A Yorkshire woman who claimed to have coronavirus and then breathed on a police officer has been found guilty of assault.

Police went to a disturbance on Whitby Avenue in Huddersfield on Thursday, March 26.

At the scene, the woman began being abusive towards the officers.

She was arrested for being drunk and disorderly.

However, as she was being arrested, she exhaled towards the officer and claimed to have Coronavirus.

She was further arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.

The woman pleaded guilty to assault on a police officer at Huddersfield Magistrates Court on Friday.

She has been remanded into custody.

She will be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on a date yet to be fixed.
